Heather M. Porter, M.S., is a member of the Producers Guild and the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences who has worked as a line producer on numerous shows in reality and documentary television. Porter has presented at all eight Slayage Conferences. She is a co-editor of the books Joss Whedon’s Dollhouse: Confounding Purpose Confusing Identity (Rowman & Littlefield Publishers, 2014) and Re-entering the Dollhouse: Essays on the Joss Whedon Series. Michael Starr PhD is an associate professor of Film at the University of Northampton, UK. His research primarily concerns philosophical conceptions of science fiction cinema, television and literature. He is the author of Wells Meets Deleuze: The Scientific Romances Reconsidered (McFarland, 2017), co-editor of Re-Entering the Dollhouse (McFarland, 2022) and has also published widely in shortform on topics such as eco-criticism, transmedia, comic studies, the MCU, cult media, and time travel narratives.
