Palgrave Studies in Monstrosity

Palgrave Studies in Monstrosity is an ongoing series, which explores beings and groups who have been monstered, Othered, and otherwise pushed to the margins. Monsters, monstered bodies, and monstrosity are multifaceted and mercurial, changing to reflect cultural milieus and historical moments. 

The series editors Amanda J. Hobson and U. Melissa Anyiwo seek global scholars of diverse identities, whose work analyzes these ideas from multiple perspectives, non-normative experiences, and divergent narratives.

Interested scholars can submit a full proposal for review by the series editors by downloading and completing the Publishing Proposal. If the proposals fit within our scope, the series editors will work with authors and editors to revise their proposals prior to formal submission to Palgrave. Ultimately, all proposals and completed manuscripts will go through Palgrave’s rigorous peer review process. You can also request to be the lead editor on one of the currently announced volumes.
