Interracial buddies and romantic relationships in movies are fundamental ways in which race relations are presented to audiences. This edited collection will investigate interracial relationships in film to open up conversations about race, citizenship, cultural belonging, and identity. Each chapter will focus on a different film that highlights the ways in which interracial relationships are problematized. We therefore seek global scholars to interrogate movies from the United States, African, Latin American, Middle Eastern, and Asian cinemas to learn how interracial relationships address race relations in other cultural contexts.
